
Angus Sutherland is a Business Development Executive for Media Guarantors. He is a seasoned film production executive with nearly two decades of experience in the film and television industry. He is recognized for driving substantial ROI, building industry-defining partnerships, and establishing strategic alliances with leading studios, production companies, major talent agencies, and management companies.
Prior to joining, Angus served as President of Artesian Wells Pictures where he launched Omar Sy’s U.S. production company, developing and securing multiple film and TV projects in partnership with Netflix, HBO Max, and Paramount. He built strong relationships with Netflix France and the French production community, actively engaging in identifying and developing French projects for U.S. adaptation.
Prior to this role, Angus was the VP of Production and Acquisitions at New Republic Pictures, where he played a crucial role in securing $50 million in financing and strategically deploying capital across projects that grossed over $500 million. He led the company’s brand debut at the Cannes Film Festival and secured high-profile projects, including a production deal with Michael Fassbender’s DMC Pictures and the Academy Award-nominated film 1917.
Angus has also served as VP of Production and Acquisitions at Lotus Entertainment, where he sourced and helped produce key projects, enhancing the company’s market position and reputation in the independent film sector.
Angus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Culture and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, both cum laude, from Middlebury College. He is fluent in French and has a proven track record of fostering cross-border adaptation opportunities and establishing long-term industry recognition.
